quality of my dvd demo reel looks so bad on laptop
I am a graphic designer/animator and my demo reel is a dvd that I edited and compressed in After Effects and then import to DVD studio pro and author from there. Is there any way to get the DVD quality to look better when the dvd is played back on a computer screen. I expect that most people watch demo reels on computer screens instead of tv screens and it looks so bad. I don’t want this to reflect on me.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you try compressing with the 90-minute 2-pass VBR preset in Compressor?
Is the pre-compressor source basically uncompressed? Which codec? -
Unfortunately, SD DVDs are limited to the 720×480 resolution of NTSC DV. Often when viewed on a computer screen the frame is scaled up to the size of the display (often more than 1024×768), this can have a negative effect on the appearance of a DVD that looks good on a TV.
To get the best image you can I would recommend increasing your bit rate to near the maximum allowable for DVD (~7 Mbps) and setting all other attributes (motion estimation, etc) to Best.

Think you should have a non-interlaced version for computerscreens
render from after in best quality (none) with fields set to off
and then the best mpeg2 compressor at max. settings and double passvanderzee.tv
