November 8, 2010 at 2:01 pmThis card isnt available yet, as far as I’m aware it was shown on the Apple store in a few regions by mistake
We’re expecting it in the next few weeks
Should be Resolve supported but we won’t know that for sure before the guys in Singapore get hold of one for testing.
Performance should be similar to the FX4800, but bare in mind the 4000 card is a replacement for the 3800 – not the 4800 or the 285

November 8, 2010 at 2:16 pmWell, my faith lies in nVidia here.
1. FX 4800 is end of line, will soon be unavailable
2. Cuda pipes are roughly the same..I expect 20% performance increase.
3. Its a slim card…space for the HDMI outlets of the Decklink 🙂
4. Almost half price of the 4800Looking forward to it

November 8, 2010 at 2:55 pmI have been in contact w/PNY and this is part of their response:
“PNY currently offers the FX 4800 for Macintosh and is waiting for Apple to release Mac OS X v10.5.6 – which will allow us to extend our range of Mac Pro professional graphics board offerings to include a product based on the new Fermi architecture. I’m bound by an NDA so I can’t pre-announce product specifics, but I can let you know that mid-November should see a product announcement from NVIDIA and PNY that will exactly meet your needs as stated.
You don’t have much longer to wait.”
The Waiting is the hardest part!

November 8, 2010 at 4:57 pmActually I’m not sure how this card would allow us to install the Decklink HDMI backplate coz it will most likely go to slot 1, which is the same slot as the FX4800. Even if it replaces the GT120 and goes into slot 2, it still won’t give us any space to put the HDMI backplate.

November 8, 2010 at 8:02 pmProblem starts when putting in a 285, GT120, decklink, and a raid card.
