Quad G5 with AE
Posted by Subspecies on February 2, 2006 at 4:59 amhi all,
has anyone used the new Quad G5’s with AE6/6.5?
is there a noticeable speed difference between the Quad and the Duals?
Ideally, they sound great (4 processors are better than 2) but i haven’t heard much chatter about them.
Hope all are well.

February 2, 2006 at 8:53 pmI can vouch that the Quad G5 handily beats the Dual G5 in AE. I’ve got those two machines sitting right next to each other and there’s a pronounced difference. I already get annoyed when I have to use the Dual for AE stuff, which seemed pretty speedy before. 😉
Running Nucleo on the Quad speeds things up even further. I’ve had a couple of real world projects render in about the half the time on the Quad with Nucleo than they did on the Quad without it.
