So we ordered the automatic duck, but haven’t opened it yet because I found that you can take omf/aaf files from our AVID and
import them directly into AE. Its about damn time adobe did this. My question now is has anyone successfully exported to the AVID
via AE from a FCP file? Basically I’m trying to make AE 7 quack like automatic duck does….

    Perhaps using some XML workflow?

This was one of the things I was hoping for in AE 7 but alas…
so far I think the duck is the only way to export a timeline from FCP and have access to all the edits and their trimmed source footage in AE.

Good news is that it sounds as if you’ve already spent the money.

well you see we got the super dooper bundle…. fcp>avid avid>fcp and pro import to ae.
The issue is we need more AE7 seats, because you can only run it on two machines, so i need to try to find a work method that
will allow us to import export and swap the triple trouble combo out for the other seat of ae.

mf adobe. love ’em and hate ’em.

i miss the 3d assistants lite. that was handy in 6.5. any word on compatability of that with 7?
