  QT Reference Files Freeze on Export in XP 5.7

  I have a feeling this is a Windows problem and not an Avid problem, but I thought I’d put it out here and see if anybody can help.

  Yesterday I inserted an SD memory card into the SD slot on my Windows XP workstation. Well, I think this must have screwed Windows up somehow. The system has suddenly become very sluggish… XP 5.7 takes over 5 minutes to load… when I try to use the Windows XP disc defrag utility it freezes… finaly, when I try to export timelines to a quicktime reference file in XP the process hangs up during the export phase (it does make it through the effects rendering phase of the process.

  Any ideas what might have happened? It doesn’t appear to be a hardware problem. I have been able to use work-arounds so far.
