  QT Question

  Hello:

  I work at a TV station that ingests movies into a server under the IMX30 codec. We then edit the movie with FCP and then make a reference QT movie with the IMX30 that then gets sent back to another server for air. The question is: After we edit the movies for language and nudity a person on a PC with QT Pro then double checks the movie for errors. At the present time, they cannot open the QT reference files for screening. But, if I make a self contained QT movie they play fine. Is there a way for a PC with QT Pro to play a QT reference file for screening? Because, it takes much longer to make the self-contained movie instead of just looking at the QT reference file. Hope that wasn’t too confusing.

  Also, if this is not possible. Would there be a “down and dirty” way to make a QT movie file within FCP so that the people can screen the movie. Right now, it takes about 30 minutes to make a QT self-contained file of a 1.5 hour movie. We need something that is quick and easy for the screeners to watch.
