  • QT metadata altered after importing into FCP7

Posted by Mark Abney on February 27, 2016 at 12:30 am

I exported a ProResHQ QT from Premiere Pro CC 2015.

The QT has 1 video track & 24 discreet audio tracks.

When I open the QT in QT Player 7 & look at the movie properties (cmd J)
I see the Video track is set at ID #1 & then the 24 discreet audio tracks are listed as ID #2 thru #25… and the timecode track is listed as ID #26.

This is exactly what I would expect & everything looks great…
Until I import this QT file into FCP7.

I import this QT into FCP 7 & throw it in a timeline to quickly check the discreet audio channels & then save the FCP7 project.

Now when I open the original QT file with QT Player 7 & look at the movie properties, the video track has been moved down to ID #27

ID #1 has somehow been deleted.
The audio IDs remain #2 thru #25 and the timecode remains at ID #26.

Anybody seen this before who could explain why this is happening?
Also… anybody know if it is possible to edit the order of these ID’s so I can get the video back to ID #1?

    Thanks,

    -Mark
