I’m working on a project that I am planning on presenting to clients on the web. I want to convert my QT files, created in FCP, to flash (.flv) files. A friend informs me this is easily done within Quicktime Pro as an export option. I have 15 export options within Quicktime, none of them being flv. I’m using FCP vers 5.1.2 and QT ver 7.1.3.

What am I missing here? Do I have my facts correct. Do I need a newer version of Quicktime or do I need to purchase a separate program like CS4 with Flash included. Are there any other less expensive options?

    Any advice is appreciated.

Don’t know of any plug-in that allows Flash export from Quicktime Pro.

You can purchase Telestream Episode which has a plug-in for Compressor that I believe allows Flash export from there.

Or you can encode an H.264 file out of FCP, QT, or Compressor which can be read by Flash. Even if you create an FLV you still need it in a SWF (or referenced by a SWF) on a website. H.264 can be referenced the same way, albeit for viewers with Flash 9 Update 3 and later. Do a search for H.264 in Flash and you’ll find a lot of hits.

I can’t vouch for it, but I use it’s big brother ON2 Flix Pro and it is great.
