  • QT Export question – anyone know how to do this?

Does anyone know if you can take a QT movie and export it as follows:

The existing movie file is QT with MPEG H.264 video and uncompressed audio inside. I want to load this into QT PRO (or Compressor), and re-export it with AAC compressed audio, BUT – I do NOT want to do any processing on the video, I just want it to “pass through” unaffected and remain H.264.

Is there a way to do this?

Many thanks to anyone who can help . .

I think once you open it in QTPro, just do an Export>QuickTime Movie and then leave the video at current settings (or change settings to match current) and change the audio part. You will have to click the “Options” button to get to this.

Thanks Todd. If I use the same settings, the QTPRO actuall re-encodes the video, which takes a long time. I’m trying to find a way to have it simple “pass” the video into the new file unencumbered.
