    Hello – trying to teach myself Boris Red, and still have much to learn. I have created a short animation with some 3D text and some particles. When previewing in Red it looks fine in the composite window. When it gets exported to a QT movie the particles seem to “bleed”. I am sure that I simply have an incorrect setting somewhere, but I can not seem to discover where, or what the problem is. I have also had the same thing happen when I have added light rays to an object. Below is a link to some screen shots to show you exactly what is happening. Thanks for any assistance you can give.

    What are your export settings in the Movie Export Settings Screen and the Compression Settings screen?

    Hi Peter,

    The settings in the Compression setting screen are :
    Codec=Animation (have also used H.264)
    FPS=29.97
    Depth=Millions of colors

    The settings in the Movie Export screen are:
    Movie type = Quicktime Movie
    Fields= None
    Scale=Full
    Quality=High
    Better Quality Field Rendering = Checked
    Alpha = Straight

    Thanks for your help. Let me know if you need any more information about my setup. Thanks again, Mark

    Hi Peter,

    Here are some screen shots of the Movie export settings, the Compression settings, and the project settings. I have not been using red very long and have not changed many of the default settings in Red.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Peter,
    Try experimenting with the fields paramater. Try Lower and Upper fields rather than None. Also, experiment with Compression settings. Try None or maybe 1:1.
    Good luck!
    Geoff
