So I have a finished, rendered sequence, HD XDCAM50, 1080i, 59.94 about 30 seconds long, and I have several transitions on the sequence and a lower 3rd name graphic that effects in and out. I have exported to quicktime, same as source, and when I play back the qt, just as playback hits the effect or supered areas, the luminance value drops about 10 ire and then pops back up after playing through the effect or supered area. This only occurs on the quicktime, not in the output from fcp. Any ideas or ways around this? (This never happened with Avid)

Do you have ALL your renders checked – needs, preview, full, unlimited, etc. under the render all option?

Well this has never happened to me in FCP so it is likely to be something to do with your workflow which you haven’t described.

Apart from checking that everything is rendered, make sure your render settings are correct. Are they set to render hi qual YUV or are you rendering in RGB.

How are you making the quicktime? Is it quicktime movie or quicktime conversion? Or is it via Compressor?
