  • QOS problem on Brocade 5000 with QLogic 2310f in too many cards in news editing facility?

    Hi,

We have about 15 QLogic 2310f cards working in a SAN with Brocade 4100 and 5000 switches, with DataDirect storage used to edit news.

We had this configuration working fine for about 3 years, but now, We are getting “QOS is disabled” messages on switches, which drive them marginal and disables our operation.

We traced problem to QLogic 2310f cards, and substitute them with QLogic 2460CK cards, which works fine, but the problem is we changed up to 6 HBAs up to now, without knowing what is the real reason for this.

Our switch version is fabric os version v6.3.0b and our HBA version is 3.03.23.

    Any suggestion please?

    Best regards.

What’s you zoning look like? Wide open? 1 to 1?

Also are the card/switch/os configs supported by the SAN?

One awesome thing about FC (and I actually prefer FC over iSCSI for SAN configs) is, and I’m sure many already know this :), the compatabilty issued are a blast to work through. Strange things happen with stuff that is not comparable.

SAN vendors literally have whole teams and labs devoted to “plug fests” where all sorts of different combos of cards, switches, OSes, are tried. You should see the labs where this is done… I don’t think I have ever seen so much fibre in my life 🙂
