Activity Forums Panasonic Cameras PV-GS500, is this the best camera to get or can you suggest another?

    Nope that’s not a great camera for the money. I’d get a DVX100 instead.

    I have both for sale if you’re looking. The GS-500 is practically new. Both Cameras are incredible and I am deeply in love with them.

    The PV-GS500 is very similar in quality to the Cannon GL2 although much less expensive and I love the way I can run around with it because it’s so small and light. Only thing I do not love about the GS-500 is that you can gather excellent audio but there is no headphone out to make sure that your are doing so.

    The Panasonic DVX-100 is legendary of course and can be had for a song these days.

    I agree with Noah, I think if you can stretch it I would grab a used good condition DVX-100, especially if you are trying to start a business or shoot anything where you are capturing CD quality audio.
