Putting HD into an SD
I have a project filmed and edited in DVCPRO 1080 and I want to throw it into a NTSC sized sequence. Currently using black bars to simulate letterboxing on my 16:9 project. Is there some way I can convert my sequence into 4:3 with letterboxing. I’ve tried just changing the setting on the sequence but it ends up squishing things horribly.

Read this thread, but do what Raphael suggests in his 2nd comment near the bottom. In your sequence settings > Render Control, make sure the quality is set to Best.

or simply create a dv sequence import the hd into the timeline and adjust the aspect ratio to fit. or shrink to fit.

Hi Kian,
Just drop your HD sequence in a 4×3 NTSC time-line.
As John points, setting “Motion Effects Rendering: BEST” should help with the downscaling.
