OK, another strange question…but I suck at mechanical things so bare with me on this….I have an older flat head tripod and then I have a tripod head that has a 60mm half ball at the bottom. How to get those two to fit together?

So I found this gizmo on Ebay from a Chinese company that I thought would do the trick which works kind of like a high hat:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/152141010354?ul_noapp=true

problem is that they list the compatible bowl sizes as 65mm (not 60mm) at the small end.

So I wrote to them asking if it would work and they say no it won’t but didn’t explain why not. So that’s my question for you – what would be the downside of putting a 60mm half bowl tripod head into bowl designed for a 65mm? Does it mean the sides of the half bowl of my 60mm half ball wouldn’t touch the sides of the larger bowl – and that would be bad????? I think the hole at the bottom of the bowl where the shaft goes through are pretty much always a standard size.
