Putting 4:3 clips in 16:9 sequence?
Posted by Frank J. lozano on May 29, 2007 at 3:25 pmDo I need to convert 4:3 clips to 16:9 in order for them to look correct in a 16:9 sequence? What about stills?

May 29, 2007 at 5:08 pmYou can just place them in a 16:9 sequence, and then enlarge them to fill the screen side to side.

May 30, 2007 at 1:39 pmI did that with some 4:3 footage that had black bar at the top. I put it into a 16:9 sequence and enlarged it until the bars weren’t visible. But that footage stutters when I burnt it to DVD and watched it on a TV. I read somewhere that blowing up footage to a higher res than it was recorded can cause problems.

May 30, 2007 at 4:23 pmThank you. I’m planning on not always centering a single clip onscreen, sometimes I’ll have two 4:3 clips playing side by side.
