I know automatic duck sells an ap that will translate Avid projects into FCP projects for $500, but is there anything cheaper out there?

All I really need at this point is to print out the Avid EDL. I tried downloading Avid FreeDV and opening the avid project in that, but it would not open the project. I am not sure what version of Avid the other house worked in, but it certainly wasn’t FreeDV.

We are working on a new project, and the folks here are looking at a window dub of a previously edited piece, picking out shots they want to use. I am simply trying to find out what reels and tc the original footage is on.

If you have access to a standard Avid software disc, you can install EDL Manager onto most Macs or PCs. This doesn’t require a dongle and will let you open an Avid project and generate an EDL.

    Sincerely,
    Oliver
