pulling and alpha channel from clip art
I am all thumbs in photoshop, but learning, and I have a bunch of gifs, and jpegs from different source and the Microsoft website.
Am am using the marquee tool to clip the images away from the white background, but is there an alpha channel I can pull away from the clip for transparency?
G5, 1.7, 4MB RAM, 30″cine, G4, 1.6 2MB RAM, Mbox, Neumann TLM-103, FCP HD 5. Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Reason 3.0, Macromedia Studio, ProAnimator, HVX200 with Firestore v4.0

Especially with the GIFs, make sure you switch to RGB mode before anything else…

Window/Channels.
If there is an Alpha, you will see it there in the palette.To create an Alpha, after you have made your selection, go to the Channels palette (the one mentioned above) and click the Save Selection As Channel button – at the bottom of the Channels palette.
