Mouse has suddenly become very erratic. The cursor jerks around almost randomly. It skips way ahead of where I am moving it. It moves vertically when I am moving horizontally.

I normally use a USB wired Mighty Mouse.

I have tried 3 different Apple Mice. I have tried three different non-Apple mice. I have tried many combinations of mice and USB ports.
    I have tried several surfaces.

I have used disk utilities to verify, repair and fix permissions on all my drives. I have reset the PRAM. I have googled the issue, but no one seems to have this exact problem (usually its with wireless mice)

    Any ideas…I’m all out!

Are you running a two-monitor setup?

Switch over to one monitor and see if that solves anything.
