psd not working
Posted by Blaine Witherow on September 27, 2019 at 8:16 pmWe have 4 copies of Vegas Pro 16. On one computer, the psd file in the timeline does not appear. It is a title created in photoshop with transparent background.
The same timeline and psd works okay when opened on another computer.I not aware of having the same problem on our copies of Vegas 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.
The same computer had Vegas Pro 13 before, however the harddrive was replaced since that time.Sony VegasPro11 12 13 ,

Hi Blaine! All of this for VP16. I’m creating PSD files from within Corel PsP.
I just tested:
Layered PSDs come in nicely. 2 Layers with additional bottom Transparent Layer. Also 1 Layer, but with an ADDEd Transparent Bottom Layer. No Bottom Layer – No Transparent. Try this, go back into PS and add a Bottom Transparent Layer.
Working nicely in VP16.

What Graham said or if that fails, just save your .PSD file in Photoshop in .PNG and make it transparent if it doesn’t convert automatically.
Cheers !

September 30, 2019 at 4:09 pmAs mentioned, the psd problem happens only on one workstation. I know we can work around it with png files, but the psd issue creates a compatibility problem between projects and workstations. I was hoping someone else that has had this issue, would also point to a proper solution.

Well, the only ”convergence of issue” I can come up with is that that change of hard drive. I wasn’t aware of your knowledge concerning PNGs, I couldn’t have. Something has definitely changed. There are far too many variables for my brain cell.
