    Hello,

    I have been trying to animate a layer from the PSD file I have imported to AE as Composition. I am adjusting the Z position of the layer in the composition however when I switch back to main composition, the image is flat. It does not recognize the Z position.

    I need to animate layers of an image in 3D space and I do not want to
    import them one by one.

    I hope somebody could help me.

    Thank you,
    Melis

    in the main composition, have you enabled collapse transformations for the nested comp (it’s the icon that looks like a little sun, or spike ball)?

    Kevin,

    I tried your answer however I realized that the psd file from the pro-composition does not cast shadow in the main composition. There are lots of psd layers staying at the different Z positions. They cast shadow on themselves in the main composition, but they do not cast shadow at the background.
    Also, when I drag and change their Z position in the main timeline, they do not go under the background layer. I mean other images disappear since they are under the background, but these .psd files do not recognize the background image.

    Do you have any solution for this?

    Thank you.
