I just reinstalled PS7, and now the program will not load filters or PS7 adjustment files (curves, etc.) when I open a PSD. It works fine with JPGs though. Any ideas on how I can correct this? Any help or insights would be appreciated

If you psd images are not 8-bit then you will have greyed out filters. Look at your filename it should be (RGB/8)if ti is (RGB/16) or RGB/32) then choose image >> mode >> 8-bit to convert to 8-bit. Newer versions of Photoshop have more filters that work in 16 or 32 bit mode.

If that is not the solution, let us know if you are Mac or PC, and try rebuilding your prefs file.

Thank you…after I posted this I began to realize it was THAT PARTICULAR PSD that was causing the problem. I opened it in Irfanview, saved it a a jpg and then as a PSD again…now everything seems fine. I appreciate knowing that PSDs in PS7 must be 8-bit…Gina
