Hi – no luck from PS forum and am still stuck with this so hoping someone here can help please

……….. have art- worked elaborate A4 invoice in Photoshop

——- all ok but I have a problem when exporting as a PDF to email to client

——- it displays way too big in adobe reader and the type looks dreadful —- its as if adobe reader does not interpret the ‘image size’ settings properly from PS ( ? ! )

—————— anyone know how how to export from PS as a PDF which displays correctly as an A4 sheet and is nice and sharp please?????

————- PSD file image size is 210×297 and 200 dpi — am totally puzzled ????????????

Chris, I’d definitely suggest using Illustrator or InDesign for proper control over PDF output. You should be able to import your PSD into Illustrator, and Illustrator will convert Photoshop objects to Illustrator layers.

    Thanks Walter

…… I presume then, there are issues with PSD files from PS ( ? ) – which would explain why I cant get it to work as one might expect !

——————— many thanks — will import into illustrator …… anything I should watch for when exporting from there please — or is it all pretty straightforward ?

———————- many thanks as always and best regards —————– chris —

    —– Hi Walter …

……………. if imported as layers to AI then PDF is sharp but still randomly opens at any size between 72% and 146% also when viewed at 100% it is not A4 as specified in original PS file

————————- any further thought at getting it to open correct size please or is this just the way it is ?? !

I was recommending Ai or Id over Ps because it’s so much easier to understand what exactly the app is doing relative to paper, not because I’m aware of any specific issues with Ps/PDF.

To control the PDF’s document’s magnification level when it’s opened, you need to set its initial view. Open your PDF in Acrobat, then go File > Properties to open the Document Properties dialog. Open the Initial View tab, set the Magnification as you like, hit OK, then save the PDF.
