Proxy Video Encoder Card
Hello everyone…
(especially you fine ladies and gentlemen at Panasonic)Our station group is going P2 and, well, I’m a bit confused.
Many of us rank-and-file, end-user types have asked for proxy video encoder cards, believing that having them would be beneficial to the “work-flow.”
The corporate Kahunas say “Nah, you don’t need those cards ‘cus the cameras already recorder proxy video.”
Huh? All the literature from Panasonic that I’ve read seems to suggest that the OPTIONAL proxy video encoder card is REQUIRED to capture MPEG4 proxy video.
Am I missing something here? Can more than one flavor of proxy video be recorded? Could our corporate execs be wearing their neckties too tight?
Does proxy video actually do any good in the REAL world?
Thanks for any insight…
