  proxy question

  Hey all 🙂

  Trying to speed up my workflow with proxies. original footage files are sony hdv 1080 50i. I right click and select create proxy->movie.
  render settings are the default draft/resolution half; in output module I’ve selected QT PhotoJPG at 75 quality.
  Not only am I not seeing any improvement, the hdv files actualy RAM preview faster than the proxies.

  Am I missing something really basic here?

  btw working on windows xp pro, and without any raid setup – single sata2 internal dedicated disk. could that be the bottleneck at these resolutions?
