Proxy Meidia and RED 4K
Hoping users here can help with this issue:
Workng with 4K RED footage in FCPX 10.1.1. Original media is kept in place on external drive. Proxy media is created inside the Project Library locally on my MacbookPro.
Having trouble Generating Proxy Media with some clips. Some clips show Proxy Media not available and the Generate Proxy Media button is not an option in the clips Info panel. Most of the time clicking “Modify RED RAW Settings” (which will delete any Proxy Media) makes the “Generate” button reappear. But with a handful of clips, this is not working.
Anyone else experience this roadblock? Any work-arounds? Am I missing something? Need to be able to edit with proxy media and deliver half-rez proxy cuts to the producers. Any suggestions on how to generate Proxy media when button not is available in Info panel?

Have you tried just selecting the clips in the event browser, right clicking and choosing Transcode Media?
