Prosumer Sony camcorder?
Bob Cole
December 15, 2020 at 7:38 pmI’m looking for a rugged, unobtrusive UHD Sony camcorder. Criteria: small, lightweight, auto-focus, with log codecs/image quality which would allow it to be principal camera on an action doc, and also to intercut as a quick alt angle for a corporate FS7/FS9 interview shoot.
If I had my druthers I’d use the a7S iii, but by the time you put a zoom on it, it seems clunkier than a camcorder. So I’ve been looking over the smaller Sony camcorders. The Z280 is bigger than I want.
Is there a sweet spot in prosumer territory?
Thanks.

December 18, 2020 at 6:05 pmIf the Z280 is too big, the FX6 is DEFINITELY too big. Why not go with the Z90? That’s about as small as a camcorder gets, and it has autofocus and SLog3.
