I have a couple of questions about the possibility of using a LED or Plasma TV for editing. Why ask the question? Because you can get a considerably larger screen for the same amount of money & you have a TV inbuilt should you need it.

I know that there is more concern if you are not using a dedicated monitor regarding color matching. Would you still have the ability with Vegas to also have a your old monitor attached as well for that purpose?

    Are there other considerations?

    Thanks in advance

My son uses a 32″ flat panel TV as a main monitor and it works fine for browsing and watching online videos. However, I would think that the resolution limitations would be an issue while editing. Even though your final video may never exceed a 1080p equivalent, having the added resolution beyond that would make your editing easier. Not to mention you can pack a lot more pixel into a smaller size monitor than you would get out of a TV.
