ProResHQ greys out High Quality Playback
Hi all,
I just digitized HD-Cam footage into FCP using the ProRes HQ codec. The footage/sequence is 1080i at 25fps. My playback setting under the RT timeline settings only can be set at medium instead of high.
I’m working on an 8 core Intel Mac, Mac OS X, with 9 GB of RAM, Kona LHe and Call Digit Raid. The system should be fast enough to playback ProRes HQ.
Is there a way to set the timeline playback to high? Does this setting affect the output during dump to tape or export?

search this forum and you will see that it is a RAM issue.- RESEAT all your RAM – removed any unmatched pairing.

How do I do that Gary? Sorry for my ignorance, but I’m just on a Mac for one month after ages on Windows.

Take the memory modules out and put them back in.

Just take it out and put it back on the same spot? What does that do? I’m trying to find out more about it in the forum, but I can’t find that memory discussion.

It insures that the electrical contacts are properly connected.
