ProRes on Win7 nightmare
Hi,
I just finished shooting a feature film on the F3 with the Cinedeck Extreme. We were recording S-Log to ProRes 4444 .mov files on the Cinedeck.
I’d like to be able to color grade a simple edit of the footage to show the director and producer the look I want for the film. Unfortunately I’m on a PC running Win7.
Avid, QT PLayer, AE, Combustion all see the footage as 8bit which is a real problem for me. I assume it has to do with the way QT decodes the footage.
Is there a way to properly interpret this footage as 10bit on a Windows box or should I find a Mac System and transcode everything to DnxHD 175x to be able to grade it in 10bits on my W7 machine?
Thanks
SimonLL
