ProRes on Hyperdeck Studio : what about Shuttle ?
Today BlackMagic announced that Prores was implemented in the firmware 3 for Hyperdeck Studio. But it isn’t able for Hyperdeck Shuttle.
BlackMagic guys just tell us… shall we forget about ProRes on the BM Shuttle ? -

If you have a v1 shuttle, considering you didn’t get DNxHD, I would forget about ProRes.

I mean if you have Shuttle version 2. It is able to record to DNxHD and should probably be able to record ProRes without hardware upgrade…

What I heard from folks at BMD today on the show floor is that Apple requires a license for every flavor of Pro Res as well as for every individual DEVICE. So both Studios are licensed separately as would be the Shuttle. It may not be financially viable to license the Shuttle at current prices or it may be forthcoming in the future. I have no information on that.
