  • ProRes HQ needs render in same setting sequence

    Hi,

In some weird moment I decided to transcode some clips filmed on a Canon 7D to Prores HQ. We filmed a couple of people on a green screen so I figured I might as well have them in HQ. The rest are in LT.

Now, when I drop the HQ clips into the sequence FC asks about changing the settings to match the clip. I click yes. The settings are the same but the clip needs rendering anyway.

Is this a hardware issue? I have an old Mac Pro 2x2ghz dualcore intel and 8gb of ram. Just installed Decklink SDI hoping things might speed up a bit. Am I not seeing something? 😉

    Thanks in advance.

Post the properties of the HQ clip, and post the sequence settings… they don’t match somewhere, or you’ve actually transcoded to a format not directly supported or something. You shouldn’t be seeing this if all was done right.

    the vid:
25fps, 1920×1080, prores HQ, data rate 23.6mb/s, pixel aspect: square, field dom.: none, alpha: none/ignore, composite: normal, speed: 100%, frame blending on.

The sequence settings are exactly the same

From the browser, double click the clip in to the viewer and check the motion tab.

Anything out if alignment or any filters on the clip? Check from viewer only and clip must have been opened from the browser and not the timeline.

If everything is at it should be. Add the clip to a new sequence. Still need rendering?

How did you transcode the clip?

I think that converting the entire footage to HQ or to LT might help.

    Motion is clear.

Dont know what that was. I opened the project today and everything ran smoothly without render. Strange, no?
