I have a Sony Z7u which has a native progressive mode. I want to transcode my HDV to ProRes during injest. In an earlier post I was instructed to use the 1080psf 23.98 setting when shooting native 24p with my Z7u. My question is, which setting do I use for native 30p? My guess is 1080i 30 ProRes but I wanted to be sure, particularly because the preset does not indicate progressive.

Correct. What you will have to do is right after you capture (and before you start editing) find the field dom column in the browser. Change all of the clips field doms to None. You can do this by selecting the appropriate clips and right clicking the field dom column to change a bunch at a time.

    Make sense?

So native 24p on the Z7u is really captured through the Kona LHi to 1080psf 23.98 ProRes. But, 30p native on Z7u in not really 29.97? I should use 1080i 30 ProRes 422 to capture native 30p footage? Seems like there should be a preset for this in easy setup that does not need to be tweeked.

    30p is 29.97 psf. Yes.

    use the 1080i29.97 setting. Yes.

You can tweak your own as ProRes allows user access to the field dominance metadata.
