  ProRes codec issues

  I have been trying to import QT ProRes clips into CS4 (Windows). I remember when the ProRes codec (playback only) was first released for Windows, it was an installer. Now, apparently, it is included with the latest version of Quicktime player (when I run the original installer, it says the codec is already installed).

  My problem is that some QT ProRes files are not importing into Premiere or AE. They will, however, play in Quicktime player. My finding is that some files will import fine, some will import “with issues” (at some point crashing ImporterProcessServer), and some won’t import at all (generating a crash or an error message).

  Can anyone give me some insight on what might be causing my issues? (I know that there are some new flavors of ProRes released with FCS3 – perhaps that is the issue)
