    Howdy

Which codec is best to edit together in FCP series of high res stills for screening in a photographic exhibition? The images will screen off a 1024 x 768 projector. The final program will probably come out of a mini mac using Eudora then out to projector.

The images are high resolution and naturally I want to maximise quality. I’ve read here that DVC PRO HD is one way to go. Another is Apple ProRes, understanding they would have to be downconverted before screening. If ProRes, what settings in Easy Setup do I use?

    Thanks very much.

I would do this in Motion, not FCP. You can set up a custom timeline setting to match the projector, and make your final export in Photo-JPEG codec. Of course, your realtime preview out from Motion will be a bit slower that way. If you want to add Music, you can add that in Motion, QT Pro, or even in FCP.

Thanks, I’d given that thought. But the question remains, what codec do you choose to maintain highest quality possible?
