Ok… I think I figured it out with a little help from Joshua Helling at BlackMagic.

First thing. Go to DeckLink in the System Preferences and make sure the input is set to HDMI Video and Audio.
    I didn’t try the Component setting yet…

In FCP go to the Final Cut Pro Menu. Click on Easy Setup. In the drop down menus set the Format to Apple Prores.

Set the Use: to BlackMagic HDTV 1080i (if you’re using 60i) 59.94-Apple ProRes (HQ)

Bring up the Log & Capture window. It’s going to look like an SD window. That’s ok.
Set the Device Control setting to Firewire NTSC. The Capture input to BlackMagic 1080i 59.94 ProRes (HQ)

Now set the V1U in the menu settings under IN/OUT REC – VCR HDV/DV to DV. Exit the menu.

Make sure you actually have deck control in FCP.

    Here’s where it gets weird…

Go back to the camera in the menu settings under IN/OUT REC – VCR HDV/DV to HDV.

Bingo! You now can batch capture.

I was getting a broken time code error and the clips were being broken up but I changed the User Preferences to “On time code break” Warn after capture. That did the trick for me.

    Hope that helps.
