Prores AMA Link Problems
Hi all any help here would be much appreciated.
We have been filming a documentary over the last 6 months and have filmed on a number of different cameras. Now it has come time to transcode we are running into issues.
The First lot of footage was transcoded successfully using the following method:
C300 plugin downloaded from canon.
Create Avid Project that match Rushes settings
Link to AMA Volumes (The C300 Cards backed up by DIT)
Once AMA clips are all loaded select them all and choose Consolidate/Transcode to our main working drive.following this same methodology we have been having troble with footage from Arri Alexa (shooting Prores) and A sony F55.
Firstly we donloaded the AMA plugins that we could find for Alexa and sony XDCAM footage and confirmed via the console that AMA plugins were present.
Then we setup a project matching the Alexa footage (23.976 1920×1080 prores 4444)
First we tried to link to AMA volume as we had with the C300 footage this resulted in nothing. No error message was given the window simply closed. After confirming that the folder hierarchy was intact for all the footage we then tried again to link to the volumes with no successes.
we then tried to link to the individual files via AMA and we got a error message stating:
“there were errors linking AMA files”
Trying to import any of the files directly brings up the following error message:
“Exception: DISK_INVALID_FILENAME_SYNTAX”
all our files are named in camera and look as follows
B051C001_130422_R2QQ.MOV
We then repeated this process on 2 other computers with the exact same results.
Any advice is welcome
and thanks again
We are using AVID 6.5.0 on a Mac Pro 2x 2.66 GHz 6 Core 16 GB RAM OS 10.8.3
