I had some hdv 60i 1920×1080 footage from my canon hv30 that was shot in 30p mode. I rendered the footage out as apple told me to on there site for hdv to proRes and it’s 6 times bigger then the hdv footage. Does that sound right to you?

I thought proRes made footage smaller?

Seems like a hassle using proRes. Is there any other way to get my hdv 60i footage down to 30p?

    thanks
    Jason

The files size will be bigger, but the render times are generally shorter.
