prores 422 files from c300 not working in fcp7!
So I’m editing a music video and the footage I received was sectioned off into folders on the drive. 2 of the folders contained MTS files I transcoded and they work fine. One folder was named C300 and I figured I’d have to transcode whatever was in there as well. I opened it and all the clips were Liner PCM Prores 422, and I though great, one less thing to do. But they completely shut down FCP7. As soon as they’re imported I get either a message saying the files aren’t ‘optimized for FCP or I just get ‘ERROR – OUT OF MEMORY’. Now I cleaned my caches and the I can’t find any odd setting on the clip, nothing helps. If anyone has had this problem or any suggestions – PLEASE HELP!

It’s bad media but it may only be a few. Bring them in one at a time and once the bad ones are found try transcoding them in Compressor.
