    Hello Gui,

Well, I had partial luck here. By that, I meant it did respond at little differently but if it rendered to prores, I have no idea where it put it.

When I click convert (this time using a video file in a comp). I think that’s what you meant, although as I write this, now I wonder if you meant just in the media bin.

So, when I click convert, it opens up every folder in my project bin, all solids, everything – expands the trees of each.

    Appreciate some help.

I’m going to repeat myself, i don’t know what more i could say :/

Just import a video in your project, don’t put it in a comp or anything, select it anc clic convert.

If the plugin is installed correctly, it will work. The last thing i see which could explain why it don’t work, is that you have a to old version of AE, but it should work on CS4, CS5 and CS6…

    My apologies.

It’s a habit to render everything out of a comp so that’s what I thought at first was a straight video. Got it.

    It works.

Mr. Gui Goz, with all my respect to your great invention, but all the guys were confused where to put the *.exe files, it should be in the script folder but keep it inside their folder(ffmpeg) or it will not work. thank u again..

    Hello Again Gui,

I’ve been happily using your ProRes GUI to render out ProRes422. Now, I have customer who sent me 4444 and asked for that same in return. I did not see an option to convert to 4444. Any ideas?

    Thanks and appreciate your help.

Oh, I see in our discussion where you were planning to add 4444 from back in May. 🙂 Any luck with that yet? It sure would be helpful!

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi,

well, i still plan to do it, but i have not had time yet. The best way i know to it is to use ffmbc>

    https://code.google.com/p/ffmbc/

(or a version of ffmpeg compiled with the option, but the version i use is not)

    there is a gui for it> https://www.authorityfx.com/encoding-videos-in-prores-4444-on-windows/

    you can try it

I like this script a lot! Been looking for a free way to do this, as converting to prores is the only thing Im using the mac for at the moment. Is there a way to select some other compression on the audio than AAC? Like Linear PCM or Apple Lossless?

    Thanks!

Yes there is. To do that, you have to add your own parameters in the script.
The script use ffmpeg. You can find the documentation (with all the possible parameters) here> https://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.html

To convert audio into pcm linear, for example, you have to add “-acodec pcm_s16le” in the parameters. A little explaination here> https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/audio%20types

Because of the number of encoding possibilities, i clearly can’t add everything in the plugin menu, so you’ll always have to do that manually 😡
