  • Proper rendering settings for 4K editing on mid 2017 Imac

I have the newest mid 2017 21.5 Imac with the and the new 4gig Radeon Pro 560 Graphic card and I am editing 4K UHD video MP4 (h264) NOT PRORES. When I open up a NEW project it asks how to render and for playback, the choices being OpenCL, Metal or software. What is the best to use for smooth editing and fastest rendering? Thanks for the input

since you have Radeon as your GPU I believe OpenCL is your best choice.

Interesting that Metal is an option.

Maybe render something with GPU F/x and try both out.
