  • Proper preview of Image Sequence

Posted by Marc Nibor on August 14, 2013 at 7:11 pm

I imported several png image sequences. But it seems like I cannot preview them in realtime since premiere does not render a proper preview. (after hitting enter, there still shows up only a yellow bar instead of a green one) Playback is extremely choppy… probably 0.5fps ; )

Can someone pleas give me a hint what is going on?

EDIT: I guess there is one more important thin I have to mention.
I am working in 25 fps mode. When I import the sequence premiere assumes 30 fps for the sequence. After I dragged it to the timeline I interpret the imagesequence so that it uses 25 fps.
The line above the footage is yellow. But pressing enter does not do anything… premiere refuses to re-render the preview. This is the problem.

Enter is the command to render previews for effects, in to out. Clips without effects will not render.

To force a preview render for clips as well, you can Sequence > Render In to Out.

    Perfect! That did the trick.

Well… several years of using the program and still learning the basics ; )

If you do this a lot or prefer to work this way, you can edit the keyboard shortcuts and assign Enter to “Render In to Out” instead of “Render Effects In to Out.”
