Proper HD upload to youtube?
Hello all! Just want to say, I usually stop by here a lot to read other people’s messages and you guys are always helpful, so maybe someone can help me!
I recently purchased a Canon HF20. I’ve been recording footage at 1080i (24p with the bitrate at 24 as well, I believe.) I upload edit the AVCHD footage in Sony Vegas Platinum HD (version 10 I think), and I run into a strange problem; I can render the video out to HD on my desktop, but when I try to upload them to youtube, they’re only available in 360/480 resolution; no HD. I figured, at first, maybe it was the format I was rendering, so I’ve tried different ones. Sony Concept, HD templates, even the blu ray templates. Again, they all come out HD on my desktop, but not when I upload them to youtube. Any ideas?
The only time I got it to upload fully in HD was when I rendered the video in .avi, but, since it being .avi, the file was enormous for just a small clip. Any ideas are greatly appreciated and sorry for the long post! Cheers!

Use Sony AVC with one of the Internet HD Templates.
Prestine quality…Small file size…and Youtube ready.
As for your youtube uploading, i dont see why you are having

What resolutions the Youtube “processing” achieves really depends on the tide, planet alignment, airspeed and luck. There is no rhyme nor reason for it. I have uploaded virtually identical files and gotten different results from the YouTube “processor”. I uploaded a clients’ file for him to review, saw a spelling error in a subtext, fixed the spelling and encoded and uploaded a new file – all within fifteen minutes. The first file “processed” to 1080i. The second file “processed” to 480p. An hour later I deleted the second file and uploaded it again. Nothing here changed, but this time the YouTube “processor” again provided 1080i.
