proper camera for live stage feed
Posted by Amr Wishahy on December 29, 2013 at 3:20 ami am asked to shoot a play using two or three cameras and project directly onto a screen using a projector.
what is the suitable camera with good output quality that can shoot continuously without stopping and has its screen working while connected to a video mixer?

December 31, 2013 at 7:57 pmHi Amr,
Not a lot of info about budget. On the lower end (HD), you could look at this JVC camera
Projection will depend on distance, screen size. Panasonic has a pretty nice 12K if you need some brightness.
For mixer you can also look a Panasonic for a very simple SDI product.

January 1, 2014 at 11:57 amthanks a lot Vince
the mixer and projector are great, not sure if they will be within budget though.
the production company has put around 4500 $ for each gadget; 2 or 3 cameras, video mixer and projector.
could you please send me the link to the JVC camera again, because there is something wrong with this one, or just tell me its model.
what do you think of this one https://www.sony.co.id/product/dcr-sd1000e ? not the best but it works and within budget. -

January 1, 2014 at 6:31 pmSorry, I am not familiar with the Sony Camera. Here is a new link to the JVC. I can’t think of a camera with similar quality in that same price range.
JVC ProHD GY-HM750

For projection, if you can get away with a 7K projector, another one from Panasonic.
PT-DW740

This may still be a bit above your price range, I just can’t recommend anything below that since I haven’t use any of them.

You might consider renting for your event instead of buying.

January 2, 2014 at 2:21 amthe producers wants to buy equipment, its a 30 days play/performance so they need the equipment to be available all the time.
sure renting would have been better.
