    hi,

i have final cut studio 2 and a sony hdrfx1 on which i have shot hd footage.

i was wondering if someone would be kind enough to tell me what would be the best settings to log and capture and edit this footage with.

i capture via firewire on to an external hard drive.

    thanks in advance

For HDV native use HDV – 1080i50 (or i60 depending how you’ve shot
Or for better performance use HDV – Apple Intermediate Codec.

With HDV – AIC you will lose original time code

    Thanks for that neil,

when you say better performance does this mean that the quality of the image is in any way compromised?
