    Hello

i am trying to create a realistic old projector and wondered if there were any tips on using a layer in particular to create a image from a beam. I have rendered off a nice looking beam from cinema 4, using gobos and am going to attempt to use it as an emitter for dust using particular. Is there a way to save it as an emitter so trapcode will read it as an emitter

    any tips greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance

That should work. Filip had a nifty Projector aep, here:

His is the 11th post down, the one with the big movie in it. There is a link to an aep. Sounds like he used lots of layers, like what you’d get with a beam of particles. While not answering your question, I think the principles are similar.
