Projector Rigging
Posted by John Schrauwers on November 25, 2009 at 12:44 pmJust wondering which way people find it easiest to rig thier projectors to truss? When using big projectors like 12k or 10k projectors.

or in the actual DLP styles from Christie/DPI/Barco?for the LCD units, that are hanging from box truss, I use a ceiling mount that uses 1.5″ threaded pipe into a flat 4″ stock. The stock plate has 2 altman or mega clamps on it. Quick and easy. You can run the steel safety down the middle of the pipe as well.
For the Christies (non M series) I usually end up rigging to eye bolts using a turnbuckle with a shackle on one end and a half coupler on the other side. Works well for the digitals as well.
M series have a cage but basic operation is the same. For Barco, the SLM series have integrated rigging and work decently as long as you use pipes and cheeseboroughs to help position the clamps where you need versus where they land on the truss.
