Projector advice for creative/motion graphics application
Hey guys, essentially I’m a motion graphics artist, but I’d like to explore some techniques where I project my animations onto an object, film the image and then re-import to animation software for further adjustments. Also using glass prisms in front of the projector lens to distort the image.
In most cases the projector would need to be quite close to the projection surface. Ideally I’d like to have the image in focus at about 1-1.5 feet wide, projector distance about 2 feet away. High brightness and wide dynamic range does not seem so important for my graphic style and a dark studio environment.
I’d be after recommendations on required zoom & focus types, projection size & ratio (short throw vs long?) as well as projection technology so the camera picks up a clean image without visible RGB separation. Please let me know if you need any more info on exactly the types of setup I have in mind.
Thanks for any advice you may have, I’m not sure where to ask this kind of question! Maybe you know of a more suitable forum somewhere?
