“Projection” in AE
Posted by Amir Shachar on February 10, 2007 at 9:00 pmHi
I work with Adobe After Effects 7.0.
I want to make a 3D projection of some clip. The “projector” should be placed behind the “screen.
Which effects must I need to use? Thanks

You mean behind the AE camera I assume. Well, you might think that the beam effect would do it, but I personally wouldn’t be too happy with that look. Try this series of techniques:
-put your video layer in the spot you want it (on the screen)
-duplicate your video layer
-apply a directional blur or CC radial fast blur to the duped layer
-then use bezier warp to make the shine close to a point (at the projector)
-you may have to do some masking as well
This way you have a shine that corresponds to your video layer. Other than that you may want to try the strobe effect as well, depending on the look you’re going for. -
