I’ve got a project that whenever I try to open it After Effects freezes and I have to do the old alt/cntrl/delete to finally get it to shut down. Whenever I shut it down I’m given a message about it debugging?
I’ve done all the precautionary incrimental savings of this project under different names and none of them will open as well. I’ve also tried importing this project into another AE project but again it just freezes up. I read in the archives here that holding down the caps lock key while starting might work by not allowing the program to refresh but again No luck. I’ve even tried opening it on another computer but no luck again. And of course I even tried rebooting my system. I have a feeling that there must be some corrupt media somewhere in my project but not being able to open it I cant tell what is corrupt. Some of my project files are on a shared server and recently a few of them got moved around so I am predicting thats where the problem is stemming from.
    Anybody else have an idea??
By the way I’m running AE 6.5 on a windows 2000 PC.

    this is a long shot:

maybe there’s a corrupt font used in the project ?

Perhaps if you try opening the project with the command-line version of After Effects (normally only used for background rendering processes) you get a descriptive error in DOS.

However, I don’t know how to do that on a PC. The proces on Mac is called AErender and is located next to the program.
